Whitley Lane

Status: On Site

Location: Sheffield

Scope: Conversion, Restoration and New-Build in the greenbelt.

Our Role: Planning Application and Building Regulations, Production of 3D Visuals.

Our aim for this scheme was to create a high quality, sustainable home which protects the natural beauty of the site and its context. Our sympathetic design aimed to be in keeping with the immediate aesthetic and enhance the sites stunning characteristics.
The proposal repairs and retains an old traditional stone farmhouse and tall stone boundary wall which both establish a strong façade along the sites north and eastern boundaries, forming a natural central courtyard style garden.
The new masses follow the form of the original layout of the livestock buildings on the site and a palette of dark standing seam metal cladding, natural stone, and occasional timber takes inspiration from the agricultural surroundings.
